Welcome. Whether you are coming with clear practical goals or for more open-ended exploration, I strive to build a strong therapeutic approach to help you create more stability and connection to self and move you out of habitual patterns of restrictions and avoidance, towards a meaningful and valued direction. I work with individuals and couples over 18 years old.

For over 30 years, I have been in both private practice and mental health settings helping individuals, couples and families. I have experience with a range of issues including, childhood trauma, violence, grief, anxiety, depression, addictions, parenting and relationship issues.

I follow an anti-oppressive, feminist framework to help people from all backgrounds, race, cultures, genders and identities. I continue to examine the multiple dimensions of inequities embedded in laws, policies, and cultures. My approach is inclusive and adept at making connections. Everyone is welcome.

I appreciate the wisdom I learn from my clients and continue to grow and share. I have a mindfulness, yoga, exercise and art practice, which provides me with a fruitful and restorative presence in everyday living.

What work have I done outside of my private practice?

For over 30 years, I have worked in community health clinics and organizations with people who systemically experience abandonment or marginalization in receiving basic needs and support with trauma. Working in team settings at the YWCA, St Joe’s Hospital, Family Service Toronto, Sistering and Planned Parenthood, I have developed specializations in addictions, childhood trauma, sexual violence, grief, identity issues, parenting, separation/divorce, anxiety and depression. Some of my experience covers working with trauma survivors and vulnerable youth at Outward Bound Wilderness School, with women in prisons working with grief and addictions, with caregivers whose family members have dementia, chronic or mental health issues, with homeless, young women facilitating community art activist projects, with sex workers at the Toronto Sex Workers Action Project, and with young adults who are naturally exploring their identity.
